01Welcome

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Sanctum Arcana — the website at sanctumarcana.life and the related services we provide. By creating an account, paying for a membership, or using any part of the site, you agree to these Terms.

We've tried to write this in plain language. Where we use legal terms, we explain them. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@sanctumarcana.life.

02Who we are

Sanctum Arcana is operated by Sanctum Arcana Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16910382) with its registered office at Pandle House, 70 Grange Road East, Wirral, United Kingdom, CH41 5FE.

References to "we", "us", and "our" mean Sanctum Arcana Ltd. References to "you" mean the person using the site. Our contact email for any matter relating to these Terms is support@sanctumarcana.life.

03Accounts

You may use parts of Sanctum Arcana without an account, but most features (saved readings, paid memberships, the Inner Temple) require one. To create an account you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your country.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything done through your account. If you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately so we can secure it.

04Memberships and payments

We offer four tiers — Free, Believer, Ascended, and Lifetime — with prices and features set out on our Pricing page. Paid memberships are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

Monthly memberships renew automatically each month at the price displayed at the time of your last billing cycle. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access to paid features until then.

Lifetime memberships are a one-time purchase. See the Lifetime Disclaimer for the specific terms of that tier, including how we treat the word "lifetime" and what happens if the service is wound down.

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and, where applicable, are inclusive of UK VAT. If we need to change our prices, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before any change takes effect on your next renewal.

05Cooling-off and consumer rights

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a paid membership and receive a full refund, starting from the date of purchase.

Because Sanctum Arcana is delivered as digital content that you can access immediately, by paying for a membership you ask us to begin providing the service straight away and you acknowledge that your right to cancel under the 14-day rule may be lost once the service has begun. You can still cancel future renewals at any time from your account settings; this clause only affects the immediate cooling-off refund.

This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — including the right to digital content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. See our Refund Policy for how we handle refund requests in practice.

06Using the service responsibly

You agree not to use Sanctum Arcana to break the law, harm others, or interfere with the service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, copy, or systematically extract substantial parts of the site, the card artwork, the written interpretations, or any AI-generated content, without our written permission.
  • Use the AI-generated readings to provide professional advice to others, or to imply they are anything other than reflective output.
  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or impersonate other members within the Inner Temple, or post content there that is unlawful, hateful, or designed to disrupt the community.
  • Use the service to develop or train any machine-learning model, or to scrape data for any model.
  • Submit offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or unlawful content in any name or text you provide to the service, including your account name and your credits display name.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, and to remove or change any name or content that does so. Where it is practical and safe to do so, we will tell you why before we act.

07Your content and ours

The questions you ask, the readings you save, the journal entries you write, and the rituals you generate belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your content. It is never shared, never sold, and never used to train any AI system — ours or anyone else's. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail of what we collect and why.

The card artwork, the written interpretations, the prompts and systems behind our AI readings, the brand identity, and the source code of Sanctum Arcana belong to us (or to our licensors). You may screenshot a personal reading for your own records and share it privately, but you may not redistribute, resell, republish, or use our content to train models or build competing products without written permission.

If you submit feedback or suggestions to us, we may use that feedback to improve the service without obligation to you.

08Third-party services

Sanctum Arcana relies on third-party providers to run. The main ones are: Stripe (payments), Anthropic (the AI model that interprets readings), Supabase (account and database hosting), Vercel (web hosting), Discord (the Inner Temple community), and Google Workspace (email).

When you use these parts of the service, you are also subject to the relevant provider's own terms. We choose these providers carefully and pass on to them only what is necessary to deliver the service. The full picture of what is shared, and on what legal basis, is in the Privacy Policy.

09Service availability

We aim for the site to be available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows, third-party outages (Stripe, Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, Discord, Google Workspace), or events outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect the service.

We will not be liable for losses caused by interruptions of this kind. If a paid feature is unavailable for an extended period due to our fault, we will look at goodwill credits or partial refunds case-by-case — see the Refund Policy.

10Liability

Sanctum Arcana is provided for personal reflection and entertainment. It is not professional advice. Tarot readings — whether AI-assisted or not — must not be used as a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or psychological counsel. If you are dealing with a serious decision, please speak to a qualified professional. See our General Disclaimer for the full picture, including signposts to crisis support.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses arising from your use of the service, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or distress where it is not the direct and foreseeable result of our breach.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the service is capped at the greater of (a) the total fees you have paid to Sanctum Arcana in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (iii) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of England and Wales, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

11Termination

You can close your account at any time from your account settings, or by writing to support@sanctumarcana.life. If you have a paid membership, you remain billed until the end of your current billing period; we will not bill you afterwards.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if continued access would expose us or other members to legal or safety risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where it is practical and safe, we will give you notice and a chance to address the problem first.

When an account is closed, your saved readings, journal entries, and rituals are deleted in line with the timetable in our Privacy Policy. Some information (for example, billing records we are legally required to keep) may be retained for the period required by law.

12Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. For material changes — anything that affects your rights, what we charge, or how we handle your data — we will notify you by email at least 14 days in advance. If you continue to use the service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, you can close your account.

13General provisions

Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in force.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the documents they link to (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, General Disclaimer, and where relevant the Lifetime Disclaimer), make up the whole agreement between you and us.

Assignment. You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours, including in the event of a sale or restructuring of the business, on notice to you.

Notices. Notices to us should be sent to support@sanctumarcana.life. Notices to you will be sent to the email address on your account.

14Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you have a concern, please get in touch at support@sanctumarcana.life first — most issues can be sorted out by direct correspondence, and we would rather hear from you than miss the chance to put something right.

If a dispute cannot be resolved that way, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident outside England and Wales, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence.
