Why we built this

Most apps want your attention.
This one wants to give it back.

The internet is full of products designed to keep you tapping. Endless feeds. Streaks. Notifications dressed up as care. The metrics that get rewarded are the ones that pull you in, not the ones that leave you better than they found you.

Tarot deserves a different kind of home. The cards have always been a slow technology. Laid out by hand, sat with in silence, returned to over a lifetime. We wanted to honour that, not flatten it into another swipe-and-scroll surface.

So we made Sanctum Arcana. A place to draw a card and actually sit with it. A place where the reading ends when you close the page, not when an algorithm tells you to come back. A sanctuary, not an app.

What we believe

Four principles that shape every decision.

These aren't marketing values pinned to a wall. They're the lens we use when we choose what to build, what to charge, and, most importantly, what to leave out.

Stillness over speed

We don't optimise for time-on-page. The best reading is one you finish, close, and carry with you. If a feature pulls you in instead of out, we don't ship it.

The cards are the mirror

Tarot doesn't predict the future. It reflects what's already moving inside you. Our AI is an interpreter, not an oracle. It helps you read what's there. It never claims to know more than you.

Your practice is yours

Your readings, your questions, your saved spreads: all private by default and visible only to you. We do not sell, share, or train on your data. Ever.

Pay once you're ready

The free tier is genuinely free. No card, no trial timer, no dark patterns. If the practice deepens for you, you can support the work. If it doesn't, you owe us nothing.

A few things we'll never do

The quiet promises we keep.

Most of what makes a sanctuary a sanctuary is what isn't there. Below is a short list of things you will never find inside Sanctum Arcana, not because they're hard to build, but because they would betray the point of building it.

No advertisements. Not in your readings, not in your saved history, not anywhere. A sacred space has no billboards.
No engagement loops. No streaks to break. No notifications to lure you back. You return because the practice matters to you, not because a red dot demands it.
No selling your data. Your readings are yours. We don't sell them, share them, or use them to train anything. You own your practice, fully.
No fake urgency. No countdown timers on memberships. No "X people are reading right now". The only timing that matters is yours.

Made carefully

Built slowly, by a small hand.

Sanctum Arcana is made by a small, independent team. Every card has been illustrated, every word written, every interaction sat with. We move at the pace the work asks for, not the pace investors would prefer.

If we ever stop being the right home for your practice, we will say so. And if you ever want to leave, your data leaves with you.
